Investing in Women

Investing in Women (IW) is a multi-country Australian Government initiative in Southeast Asia that seeks to improve women’s economic participation as employees and as entrepreneurs and influence the enabling environment to promote Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE). It commenced in April 2016 with operations in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar and is due to run through to June 2023. It is managed out of the Gender Equality Branch (GEB) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra. The Program is supporting the following outcomes:

  • More businesses achieve improved gender equality in their workplaces
  • Intentional impact investments in women’s small and medium enterprises (WSMEs) increase
  • Positive shifts in gender norms related to workplace gender equality

About the Opportunity

Investing in Women will end on the 30 June 2023, with staff progressively leaving the Program from 30 June 2022 onwards. In order to assist our staff in the next stage of their career, IW is seeking the services of a Career Transition Specialist.

The Career Transition Specialist Consultant will design and deliver a program to all staff prior to their departure from IW. This program should include CV and resume writing, job interview coaching, LinkedIn profile writing and career counselling. Specifically, the Career Transition Specialist Consultant will:

  • Develop in consultation with the Senior Manager HR and Office Services and the Operations Director a career transition program.
  • Depending on the number of staff departing at any point in time, the deliver the services on a one-on-one basis with impacted staff and/or in small group sessions.
  • Whilst IWs preference is for these services to be delivered on-site at the IW Office in Manila, subject to the prevailing regulations, these services may need to be delivered remotely.

Engagement duration is from 01 March 2022 to 31 May 2023. The total number of service input during this period is estimated at a maximum of 15 days, or as proposed based on desired outcomes and agreed upon by the hiring manager.

This is a local role, but is open to others who have the legal right to work in country.

Performance Outcomes:

  • Career Transition Program is approved by the end of March 2022. The Senior HR and Office Services Manager and Operations Director are to be consulted during the development of the Program, and it is approved by the IW Leadership Team.
  • One-on-one sessions or group sessions as outlined in the Program are held with impacted staff. Career transition sessions are held on a schedule to be agreed upon.

  • Proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ideal Candidate must have relevant professional background and significant experience in the provision of career transition services.
