Budget and Business Analytics Consultant

About this position

The Budget and Administrative Division of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) is responsible for managing IDB’s corporate real estate portfolio, providing workplace services, including travel, security, and general services, and managing physical and digital records. The Portfolio Monitoring & Analytics (PMA) Group is tasked with leading the monitoring and reporting of facilities capital projects portfolio; planning and monitoring the administrative budget for the provision of all workplace services and the real estate capital budget portfolio; maintaining and enhancing its project management system; and leading and coordinating departmental initiatives under the Bank’s Digital Transformation Program.

The PMA is looking for a highly motivated individual with analytical and budget management skills who will contribute to a dynamic team working on capital and administrative budget management, business analytics, project & portfolio monitoring, and digital transformation.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the formulation, execution, and analytics of ACP administrative and capital budgets.
  • Monitor the work of providers to ensure effective execution of services, budget, and compliance with the work program and associated performance indicators.
  • Continuously seek to identify relevant comparators and benchmarks to identify cost and operational efficiencies across all corporate services.
  • Contribute to the business and data analytics initiatives of the PMA Group that support decision-making by designing performance metrics, dashboards, and result-based indicators; enhancing and measuring project execution and services delivery; and continuously adopting the latest technologies and tools.
  • Responsible for shopping cart requisitions, budget transfers, and reclassifications process as required. Monitor and control the accuracy of budget information in SAP and Hyperion.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field. Training and certification in agile methodologies and/or Project Management certification are a plus.
    • Experience: You have at least two years of relevant experience in budgeting, accounting, project management or project finance, corporate management, and reporting. You are a proficient user of Microsoft Office tools, data and business analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and enterprise systems such as SAP. Knowledge of diagramming software such as Visio and service management systems such as ServiceNow is a plus.
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

      Requirements:

    • Citizenship [1]: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.
    • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
    • Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
