Major Function

The Brand Engagement and Education Specialist will support the development and implementation of brand engagement activities along with playing an instrumental role in developing communication and marketing plans that increase the awareness and drive engagement of WWF’s education program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the development and distribution of WWF’s public service announcements (PSAs) that are aligned with programmatic objectives and meet the organization’s financial goal for in-kind revenue. Conduct competitive review, partner/talent vetting, trend analyses and other relevant campaign/issue research as needed.

  • Develop and implement brand research projects to measure brand awareness and perception with key audiences, along with staying up to date with market and consumer trends. Work with various teams across Communications and Marketing, as well as collaborate with programmatic teams to deliver results and incorporate research needs into surveys, messaging, and planning as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Communication and Marketing department on the strategic and creative development, production, and evaluation of integrated marketing campaign activities. Responsibilities include coordinating administrative and program management activities and keeping teams updated on campaign development, including tactic plans, key milestones, timelines, meeting preparation, etc.

  • Collaborate with the education team along with members of the Communications and Marketing department, to develop creative and effective communication and engagement materials for educational programs to engage key education audiences, such as teachers, parents, administrators, and students. This may include:

    • Regular updates to Wildclassroom.org and web stories

    • Emails to our WWF educator community

    • Social media posts

    • Presentation decks

    • Internal communication

    • Manage WWF’s education program strategy, presence, and activities at national and regional education conferences, community events, festivals, and other public events.

    • Manage key vendors related to these programs, serving as a point of contact as needed, inspiring them to achieve excellent results, and evaluating their performance.

    • Contribute to and participate in tasks and special projects as assigned.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Skills and Abilities

      • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience or 2+ years with an advanced degree in communications, marketing, conservation and/or comparable relevant experience.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including effective public speaking and the ability to communicate complex issues both verbally and in written form.

      • Excellent organizational and project leadership skills

      • Strong research and analytical skills

      • Strong project management skills

      • Skilled with Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and basic HTML coding appreciated.

      • Excellent interpersonal skills requiring knowing when to use courtesy, tact and/or diplomacy to effectively communicate with all constituents.

      • Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, to meet deadlines and commitments.

      • Ability to set priorities, manage a multitude of details simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

      • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with a wide range of colleagues, vendors, and other partners.

      • Knowledgeable in conservation and current environmental issues facing our planet a plus.
