Position Overview

As an Associate, Sustainability Reporting & Data, you will be an integral part of the Environment and Sustainability Department (ESD), working closely with the Policy and Monitoring Directorship. This role is crucial in enhancing EBRD's capacity for environmental and social reporting, aligning with evolving international standards, notably the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) requirements set to apply from 2025. You will collaborate across departments to identify and mitigate gaps in sustainability reporting readiness and contribute to the development of robust data collection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with reporting-focused colleagues to identify sustainability data needs and support IT and Transformation teams in developing systems and processes for data collection, management, verification, and reporting and provide support to on-going digitalisation of sustainability data management.
  • Play a significant role in preparing ISSB-compliant financial reporting subject to external audit, ensuring compliance with the latest sustainability reporting standards.
  • Ensure sustainability reporting policies remain current and consistent with the regulatory framework.
  • Support the Director, Policy and Monitoring, and the Head of Monitoring and Policy on sustainability reporting matters.
  • Review procedures across departments to ensure efficient and auditable sourcing of sustainability data.
  • Work with Finance and relevant teams to develop EBRD's approach to ISSB reporting.
  • Define and support the development of reporting and analytic products to meet sustainability reporting deliverables and deadlines.

    Accountabilities & Responsibilities

      Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

      • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
      • Experience in sustainability-related monitoring, verification, and reporting, preferably in the financial sector.
      • Understanding of data governance and management principles.
      • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Cognos, Tableau, or PowerBI preferable.
      • Awareness of emerging digital technologies and commitment to continuous learning.
      • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
      • Proven ability to work independently on complex projects.
      • Strong numerical, financial, and data analytical skills with the ability to interpret environmental and social data.
      • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate technical matters using clear language.
      • Knowledge of sustainability reporting regulatory standards, particularly ISSB. Knowledge of other sustainability-related standards, including GRI, CSRD/ESRS, is an advantage.
