NORDIC INVESTMENT BANK (NIB) is an international financial institution jointly owned by the governments of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The Lending Department at NIB is seeking a

Associate Banker/Banker for the InvestEU Program

to support NIB’s lending activities in the context of InvestEU program implementation.

Main responsibilities

Assume end-to-end responsibility for coordinating the approval process for new InvestEU transactions by the InvestEU Investment Committee (InvestEU IC), through: advising NIB transaction teams on the required content of the InvestEU guarantee applications. ensuring consistency and high-quality standard of the submitted materials. promptly responding to InvestEU IC’s requests for additional information. Build expertise of the InvestEU legislative framework and related delegated acts & guidelines issued by the European Commission and relevant for the implementation of the program. Coordinate the regular reporting on the InvestEU loan portfolio (operational, risk and financial) and maintain responsibility for the InvestEU portfolio data quality and completeness. Initiate and contribute to the development of NIB’s internal systems required for an efficient and timely data collection and delivery to the European Commission. Coordinate NIB responses to the European Commission and to other relevant EU authorities on ad-hoc information queries as well as scheduled audits and evaluations carried out by the Commission on the NIB InvestEU portfolio. Actively contribute to the semi-annual Policy Review Dialogue between NIB and the European Commission. Monitor the developments of the InvestEU program and lead the preparations for potential calls of interest for participation in the new rounds of InvestEU budget allocation.

Qualifications and experience

Preferably a master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Engineering, Political Sciences or equivalent. At least 3 years of relevant experience involving interaction with the EU bodies and/or management of EU financing programs Good knowledge of the EU strategy initiatives and policy priorities Corporate banking / finance experience is considered an advantage Project management experience is considered an advantage Fluency in written and spoken English
