Terms of Reference1. General Background

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern.

Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees. UNHCR have developed a $1 Billion Private Sector Fundraising Strategy 2018-2025. This strategy focuses on both Individual Giving and Private Sector Partnerships and identifies priority fundraising markets and regions.

This role will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the content production for the Private Sector Partnership (PSP) MENA team. The incumbent will help in coordinating the traffic of the in-house creative team responsible for crafting content and supporting productions for all PSP MENA teams and diverse audiences, including the wider public in MENA and globally, digital influencers and GWA, media partners, high-net-worth individuals (HNIW), private corporations, and foundations. The role will also act as a liaison between the PSP team, the field and the Global PSP team in the planning, execution, and delivery of a range of content assets for fundraising and engagement purposes.

The position demands a balance of project management and coordination skills to ensure the PSP MENA creative team delivers timely content for major campaigns like Ramadan and Winter, used both regionally and globally. This content includes storytelling videos, landing pages, infographics, emails, impact reports, and other assets. Constant communication with the wider PSP network, regional bureaus, country operations, and field colleagues is crucial. The incumbent will also have to be alerted to identify key opportunities, and reputation risks which could negatively impact UNHCR’s fundraising potential, paying careful attention to ethical guidelines.

2. Main Accountabilities or Main Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the PPH Officer in the MENA region, the Assistant Creative Content Officer will be responsible to:

• Coordinate all creative content requests between PPH, F2F and IG teams and the creative teams, including designers, copywriters, and multimedia specialists.
• Support PSP MENA’s digital team content strategy and its fundraising goals, in collaboration with the Digital and Fundraising teams, especially in the digital space to engage more audiences and help acquire new donors.
• Write and coordinate content briefs for content collection missions, interviews, filming and photography among refugees for PSP MENA and support PSP global campaigns and activities.
• Help in writing, editing and proofreading a wide range of content, including, landing pages, videos, impact reports…etc.
• Create project timelines, and milestones for a wide range of creative projects of different scopes from start to finish (planning, production, traffic & timeline management…etc.), while managing talent.
• Holds successful brainstorms, creates concepts, ideas and pitch decks, works towards adoption of ideas, products and activations.
• Support the team in coordinating content gathering with key UNHCR operations as well as PSP HQ, to coordinate content requirements, content collection and production.
• Liaise with external agencies to manage external shooting and production as needed.
• Drive opportunities and themes based on data analysis and research. Remain agile to recognize opportunities from trends and news agenda to create fundraising momentums.
• Work closely with the Fundraising and Digital teams to assess performance of content and maintain agility in making amendments and recommendations for improvement.
• Perform other functions as needed.

3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
This position will be responsible to:

• A calendar of creative requests and content updates and a process to manage these is well established.
• Central library of all content and assets is well-created and managed.
• A clear schedule and sign-off process is well established and adopted by all internal stakeholders.
• Producing original and high-quality written and visual content for global and regional campaigns

4. Qualifications and Experience

a. Education

• Bachelor degree in in Marketing; Communications; International Relations; Fundraising; Advertising; Journalism and/or equivalent work experience.

b. Work Experience

• Minimum1 year with a bachelor degree in combination of related experience in leading a team of high-performing creative and/or marketing professionals.
• Significant experience working in a fundraising context, in the field of external relations and/or communications.
• Experience in working in content creation and video production.
• Experience in high-level external relations, including communications.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders a plus.
• Working experience in the humanitarian field.
• Multi-channel experience, including digital/web, social media, and video
• Previous experience with UNHCR.
