Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Deputy Director of DP, and working closely with the Associate Manager Strategic Analysis, the Analyst provides analytical services to DP, supporting the effective management of donor funds. They analyse the use of donor funds in the EBRD, including requirements for new and potential funding opportunities, thereby supporting business operations across the Bank and shaping strategies. The Analyst works closely with the Intern in the DP Analysis and Strategy Pillar, the associate manager, the deputy director of DP and engages with colleagues across DP, the EBRD and other international organisations and DFIs.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Data management and analysis

Lead data collection and reconciliation processes, across different teams and departments. Manage and maintain the data in an efficient manner. Respond to ad-hoc internal/external data analysis requests. Reporting and analysis work with the Blended Finance Hub – jointly with the Impact Team.

Knowledge products and dissemination

Support production of knowledge product such as internal/external reports (ADR) and papers (Funding Outlook). Dissemination of data analysis and visualisations through presentations, briefing notes, and other external donor visibility materials.

Strategy and policy

Support data analysis to generate data-driven findings and insights. Interpretation of these findings and insights to inform donor funds strategies and operational polices, to improve donor funds operations.

Engagement with External stakeholders:

Work closely with the Blended Finance Hub colleagues (DP, Impact, CSD) on various tasks related to information and analysis on EBRDs use of Blended Finance, e.g. the joint annual DFI Report on Blended Concessional Finance; submissions to Convergence; joint product development with Debt Mobilization team, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Masters Degree in Economics, Statistics, International Development or other relevant field. This post will be well suited to a professional with some relevant work experience, especially with first hand exposure and experience in international development and international development finance. A strong understanding of bilateral and multilateral donors, as well as exposure to the work of IFIs/MDBs/DFIs, multilateral organisations or a bilateral government would be an advantage. This position requires someone who can work flexibly and independently, is a self-starter and can take initiative. Previous work in or knowledge of an IFI or MDB and/or UN organisation is an advantage. Strong team worker with excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders at different levels; Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Excellent quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret technical/financial information and to design and use financial models; Ability to write clear and comprehensive text for internal and external audiences; Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and in teams; Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity; Attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast-pace environment; Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, with experience in data analytics related software (e.g. Tableau, SQL, R) are desirable Excellent data cleaning, management, and analysis skills. Experience in relational database management is desired
