POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Team Lead, Bahamas is to support the team’s implementation of services and training in a recovery emergency setting. The Team Lead provides support in the field and is responsible for coordinating and managing community-based activities that are in-line with the recovery based planned activities. This includes coordinating liaison activity with relevant ministries, community leaders, government officials, other NGOs and other International Organizations related to the recovery actions. In the field, the Coordinator is responsible for the quality and quantity of community training efforts and the coordination efforts associated with them. S/he is accountable for finding and managing suitable local trainers to assist in preforming community activities under Team Leads overall guidelines. Additional responsibilities will include logistical support and procurement both in-country and with external sources.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.
  • Undertaking project tasks as required.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in a related filed while MS is preferred
Minimum of three years preferably in insecure environments, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in a developing country or similar low resource environment **
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent Project HOPE to a broad range of people and organizations**
  • Experience and understanding of security management and insecure environments
  • Knowledge, practical understanding of and ability to work within both relief and development NGO contexts
  • Able to represent Project HOPE among local authorities, donors, United Nations, international and national NGOs **
  • Develop strong working relationships with actors in the emergency response **

  • Must be a people person
  • Has developed strong working relationships with actors in the emergency response
  • Be comfortable interacting with new people and groups both one-on-one and for large gatherings
  • Be able to motivate above in positive collaboration
  • Have the ability to identify and analyze opportunities that contribute to strategic aims, translate them into practical plans and implement them
  • Organize trainings for large group activities with multiple actors and piece parts.

· Exercise problem-solving skills in day to day and crisis situations

· Have resilience and stress management skills for self and team
