The Background

EAPPI (Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel) is a program based in Jerusalem whose mission is to provide protection to vulnerable Palestinian communities, monitor and report human rights abuses and support the search for a just peace for Palestinians and Israelis. The operation of EA (Ecumenical Accompaniers) is a three-month voluntary monitoring deployment in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The EAPPI main office is located in the old city of Jerusalem, Israel.

Job Scope

As team facilitator you would be strengthening the international teams in the seven placements and would be available to the EA as a contact person.

You would be responsible for the following:

  • Organizing and supporting seven international teams considering the background and qualifications of each of the team members
  • Facilitating training and debriefing sessions - one before deployment, one halfway during operations and one during the closing days
  • Visiting the teams on-site
  • Monitoring the group dynamics, providing counselling/mediation and overseeing security of the EA
  • Coordinating with the EA and teams on a regularly basis

Your Qualification Profile

  • Relevant university degree (minimum bachelor), preferably in theology, pedagogy or psychology
  • Professional experience in mediation, counseling or coaching
  • Competency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Diplomatic and intercultural communication skills and sensitivity
  • Openness and motivation to integrate with the culture of the region
  • Capacity to travel for business in the region

Citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or of Switzerland is required.
