The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) is a joint project between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Brazilian Government to facilitate South-South Cooperation on key development issues. The Centre carries out applied research and its goal is to generate knowledge resources to the global development community.
The main objectives of the center are to contribute applied research-based policy recommendations for inclusive growth and to facilitate South-South exchange and learning on key development issues. Toward these ends, the IPC-IG not only conducts research, but also organizes thematic workshops, policy training seminars, advisory and programme evaluation missions for requesting countries, and hosts resident researchers. The Centre regularly publishes Working Papers, issues of Policy in Focus, Policy Research Briefs and One Pagers to encourage policy debate and dissemination of knowledge. In October 2019, an International Technical Cooperation Project BRA/19/008 was signed between the National School of Formation and Improvement of Labour Magistrates (ENAMAT), linked to the Superior Labour Court (TST), and the UNDP/IPC-IG. The project aims at “Strengthening Information Production and Management related to Labour Justice to Expand Knowledge and Improve the Brazilian justice system”. The project will develop research aimed at broadening and deepening knowledge about administration, management and access to justice. In this sense, it will be produced a comparative and descriptive international analysis of labour jurisdiction law systems (Brazil, Portugal, Mexico Argentina, South Africa and South Korea) and an analysis of the formative dimensions of learning assessments and institutional evaluations of the judicial schools. In addition, the project includes studies on how new technologies, digital platforms and transformations may affect labour law; the impact of collective demands on the effectiveness of labour law; the judicialization of the work environment, work accidents and occupational diseases; and complementary studies focused on improving the Brazilian justice system to be discussed with partners. The project also includes a component related to the efficient management and knowledge management of the undertaken activities. The project’s initial duration is two years (until December 2021) and it can be extended if necessary.
The research assistant will be responsible for assisting the IPC-IG research team in developing the national component of the Project: the analysis of the formative dimensions of learning assessments and institutional evaluations of the judicial schools.
The Research Assistant position is within the IPC-IG Research team.

Please note that the duty station is Brasilia/DF. UNDP will not provide any subsidy to fund the selected candidate to move to Brasilia.
