Under the supervision of the Explosive Hazards Management Team Lead (EHM TL) and in close collaboration with UNMAS Iraq Senior OPS/QA Officer, the Project Associate (EHM Support) will be assigned to undertake responsibilities below:

  • Support internal management of UNMAS Projects, such as but not limited to, movement and leave planners;
  • Manage day-to-day inquiries from UNMAS team members regarding their Personal Security Detail (PSD) requirements, including compliance, regulations, and policy and provides guidance where necessary;
  • Act as the focal point for Explosive Hazard Management Team in VIP visits (to include deploying to the field), lead coordination with Communication and Security in close liaison with the Senior Ops/QA Officer;
  • Present daily PSD requirements to the Senior Ops/QA Officer and or the Field Security Manager and facilitate the specific allocation of resources to missions;
  • Facilitate the timely submission of the movement requirements through to the UNMAS Local Security Assistant (LSA) or third party contractor, after the allocation of resources have been done by either the Senior Ops/QA Officer or the Security Field Manager;
  • Provide support to Explosive Hazard Management Team Lead through the management of administrative processes including, but not limited to: quality management, training, mobilization and d, preparation of new procurement documentation;
  • Provide linguistic support to the Explosive Hazard Management Team on an ad hoc basis (including in the field);
  • Perform any other relevant task assigned by the EHM TL.

Education and Relevant Years of Experience:

Education

  • Secondary education (high school or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience is required; OR
  • First level university degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Experience

  • Relevant experience is defined as experience in support services relevant activities, project management, or administrative management.
  • Two years of experience in a complex emergency affected by a disaster or conflict is required.

Language

  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing) is required.
  • Fluency in Arabic (speaking, reading and writing) is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language is desired.

Contract type: Local Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA)
Contract level: Local ICA Support (LICA-6)
Contract duration: Open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
