Program Coordinator – Sponsorship

The Role
The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for City LGU (Navotas) engagement and should exercise strategic leadership in community engagement and coordination in Sponsorship program areas. The post holder will work closely with program officers to ensure an integrated multi sectoral program of activities is established in each barangay of implementation. The post holder will input into the area strategy, play a key role in assessments and ensure community engagement and coordination is cohesive across areas and for all sectors. The Project Coordinator represents Save the Children in communities and with stakeholders, e.g. community leaders, representatives from donors, government, and other agencies as required.

The post is expected to closely work with the Senior Program Officer (SPO) and Partnership Officer to strengthen strategic partnership as one of the key components in establishing sustainability mechanisms. This will also entail representing the organization before local institutions, civil society organizations, government agencies and donors.

In the event of a humanitarian crisis in the Sponsorship Impact Areas, the post holder must work with the Humanitarian Response Unit in observance of the Humanitarian Imperative.

QUALIFICATIONS
* 3 years’ experience in Community Development work with strong background in community mobilization and constituency building.
* Background in engaging policy decision makers in child rights issues.
* Effective communication and facilitation skills demonstrated by skills and knowledge in using various tools in simplifying concepts and frameworks in communicating with a wide range of audiences related to the program including children.
* Critical thinking which is demonstrated by the ability to resolve program issues and integrate programs.
* Experience in facilitating community and child participation, use of child rights approaches, gender development and inclusion principles in development or humanitarian settings.
* Resilience to stress, can tolerate working under ambiguous circumstances), high flexibility to abrupt changes and can multitask .
* Strong sense of urgency and work ethics particularly in timeliness (organizing and prioritizing) and quality in programming.
* Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework.

Contract length: Fixed Term position until December 2020 based in National Capital Region
