The WaterAid Institutional Funding and Partnerships team is leading on delivering an exciting new strategy to grow WaterAid’s restricted funding from key institutional donors, and increase the expertise and capability of the staff working on resource mobilisation, and partnership / consortia development. As the Partnerships Manager, Institutional Funding you will be critical in building the profile of WaterAid with ke y institutional donors, identifying and creating funding opportunities, and working across the whole federation and with key suppliers / contractors to position WaterAid to be the partner of choice for WASH.
We are looking for a strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results. With a strong business development and partnership development background, you will have significant expertise and knowledge in the ways of working of key donors such as the FCDO, EU, SDC, World Bank, and other bilateral and multilateral institutional donors.
This is a full-time 12-month fixed term maternity cover, due to current restrictions the majority of staff are working from home. However, WaterAid is currently located at Canary Wharf, London.
In this role, you will lead, develop, and implement a resource mobilisation strategy for increasing funding from priority institutional donors as well as supporting the organisation to identify and respond to opportunities from donors such as FCDO, USAID, World Bank, and other bilateral and multilateral donors.
You’ll also:

  • Ensure WaterAid is well positioned as a ‘go to’ agency for long term WASH programming with focus donors and key suppliers / partners
  • Build, maintain, and track global relationships with and influence focus donors, as well as support the cultivation of in-country relationships
  • Provide WaterAid staff with up to date intelligence on focus institutional donors, key funding suppliers / partners, and funding opportunities

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Substantial and successful experience / track record in proactive donor engagement and relationship building with institutional donors such as FCDO, other bilateral and multilateral donors, and their funding modalities
  • Strong experience and proven track record of success in securing high value new business from FCDO, SDC, UNICEF, and other bilateral and multilateral donors
  • Strong experience of creating relationships and consortia development
  • Evidence of identifying / creating and developing new funding opportunities / pipelines

Salary: c.?46,000 with excellent benefits
