Background
Logistics Department is one of the main support functions that helps IMC Gaza to maintain a strong team by applying all the rules and regulations as needed. Covering Procurement. Logistics, Fleet Management and warehousing.

Job Purpose

The Logistics Officer coordinates the logistics activities on site and liaises with the Logistics security & Fleet Manager under the supervision of the logistic coordinator to ensure a good coordination and efficient communication in all the Logistics department and is responsible for all the overall good functioning of the daily office logistics activities. H/SHE carries out the specific duties rising on daily bases or specifically given by the direct line manager.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely acquisition and delivery of equipment, goods and services in support to the implementation of International Medical Corps projects. This includes support to planning process, items standardization, timely launch of procurement activities, screening suppliers, competitive bidding and enhanced business practices, advanced negotiation, contractual design (framework agreement, scheduled deliveries…), positive business relations with suppliers, timely delivery to IMC and subsequent payment, timely delivery to requester/customer.
  • Responsible for the implementation of IMC Logistics reporting system. Design and deploy in-country information management network to track, capture, analyze and report logistics standard information and documentation on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly bases. Develops and implements control mechanism allowing documented control trail
  • Assist the security manager on; monitoring the evolving situation-inform the staff movement and procurement plans accordingly.
  • Responsible for the production of the site monthly operations / logistics report. The report must be sent to his supervisor each month.
  • Responsible of the office stock inventory (Kitchen supplies and Stationery). Perform regular visits to the field to update the stock sheet accordingly and coordinate the acquisition and delivery of supplies

Qualifications

  • Good levels of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to operate effectively across organizational bounders, ability to establish and maintain effective partnership and working relations in a multi-cultural , multi-ethical environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • Knowledge in the overall security context of the country
  • Familiar with developing an operational mechanism during different security levels
  • 3 years of experience in the logistics field
  • Having attended any training related to Security and logistics is a plus
  • Fit for purpose country fleet of vehicles and engine equipment following IMC vehicle fleet management guideline, including training of drivers/operators, control
