• Review available local climate change information and vulnerability and adaptation assessments and highlighting gaps in terms of information, systems or guidance;
  • Research available local climate change vulnerability and adaptation information and generate knowledge products on the basis of accomplished studies, assessments, surveys, policy dialogues and other tools;
  • Support teams in formulating concrete and results-oriented research/knowledge annual plans;
  • Work proactively with the project team to identify opportunities for capturing and sharing knowledge, and disseminating information about major progress and results;
  • Apply his/her knowledge as well as practical experience in knowledge management concepts and tools, including software applications and IT systems;
  • Develop TOR for hiring survey/research firm and facilitate hiring local and international consultants to carry out planned research and communication activities;
  • Provide feedback to hired firm/individual consultants on survey/research tools and technique;
  • Take necessary actions to disseminate the research findings;
  • Providing a regular link with M&E and MIS Officer in knowledge generation and dissemination;
  • Design of different IEC activities for implementation; 
  • Facilitate the development and field testing of appropriate messages for climate change awareness-raising and adaptation strategies, communication activities and materials;
  • Capture good practices for producing knowledge products and communications materials; 
  • Demonstrates integrity by modelling the UN’s values and ethical standards;
  • Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP and UNCDF;
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
  • Treats all people fairly without favouritism;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong knowledge on Action Research;
  • Strong communication and IT skill (MS Office, photoshop, web designing, and other communication-related softwares);
  • Understanding of political environment, reform issues and policy formulation;
  • Ability to analyze country context and development situation; 
  • Involvement in decentralization and local governance program;
  • Strong background on field level case studies particularly related to Climate Change vulnerability and adaptation;
  • Good grasp on the issues of surrounding political and administrative context and dynamics, local administrative and procedural problems and strengths and weaknesses of democratic governance institutions at local level.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability of establishing and good working relationships to facilitate work goals;
  • Ability to demonstrate results-oriented approach to work;
  • Strong networking and inter-personal communication skills;
  • Understanding of gender and human rights issues in the LGI context.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of communication and knowledge management in development projects in Bangladesh. 
  • Solid understanding of climate change vulnerability and adaptation issues;
  • Professional achievements in the relevant fields of knowledge management and communication;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing content that clearly communicates ideas and experiences for media, web, print production, and audio-visual productions.
