PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: responsible for providing counseling services to beneficiaries, overseeing the development of a psychosocial curriculum, and advising staff on self-care through training and self-development activities.

Specific Objectives:

Provide Counseling Services to ICMC Beneficiaries

· Provide quality assessment, counseling, referral and follow-up services to clients, using a trauma informed approach;

· Work with beneficiaries to develop a treatment plan in line with their own choices, available options, and existing situation.

· Provide basic support and guidance to family members to help them provide on-going support to the clients at home, according to the situation.

· Facilitate the referral of vulnerable individuals to various organizations for specialized care, including specialized psychological services as required.

· Coordinate with: ICMC country-based staff, ICMC partners, external parties as requested.

· Provide quality counseling over phone in any Governorate.

· Experience in providing training for the beneficiaries.

Support an organizational culture of quality and self-care

· Support the senior counsellor in psychosocial wellbeing of staff and promote a healthy culture of self-care through trainings and self-development activities;

· Support the development of psychosocial curricula and other materials for the center

Demonstrate ethical and professional practice:

· Respect beneficiary confidentiality at all times

· Respect and promote ICMC’s Polices and code of conduct, including child protection and PSEA.

· Report any non-respect of ICMC’s policies through the established complaints and whistleblower mechanisms

· Address needs and requests of beneficiaries in a respectful and professional manner

· Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.

· Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers.

· Always respect a refusal of treatment.

Complete Administration and Communication tasks in a quality and timely manner

· Complete regular reporting and administrative duties

· Establish good and regular communication with project beneficiaries, ICMC partners and various service providers.

· Establish good communication and coordination with all ICMC departments and project staff.

· Enter client data into the Data Management System and assist with data collation and reports as required and requested.

· Provide inputs into other center activity reports as requested/required.

Required Qualifications and competencies:

· University degree in psychology, or related field.

· Proven experience employed as a Counselor in the direct provision of counseling or -psychosocial support services to adults and children.

· Minimum three (3) years professional experience, preferably in the NGO sector.

· Experience in working with vulnerable/marginalized populations.

· Experience working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma informed approach preferred;

· Excellent ability to assess and intervene with appropriate and effective intervention.

· Excellent report writing and communication skills.

· Ability to provide remote psychosocial support services, specially counseling sessions using different platforms.

· Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people;

· Group counseling and facilitation skills essential; ability to communicate effectively, problem-solving skills, and crisis manage.

· English language skills and ability to work in English preferred;

· Excellent command of MS Office and other computer programs, including good typing skills.

· Excellent team working skill, diplomacy, and ability to work in a multicultural environment -and under pressure.

· Ability to travel and work outside of the office.

· Critical thinking skills, flexibility, and commitment to serving vulnerable people.
