The purpose of the consultancy is to contribute to the promotion of critical project accomplishments and results by writing human-interest stories. In this context, the Copywriter (hereinafter the Consultant) will be tasked with the identification, development and placement of content, ensuring that the human-interest stories are concise, informative and reader friendly.
The consultancy will generate a series of 20 inter-connected human-interest stories presenting critical information about the implementation of project activities and milestones, placing the spotlight squarely on the beneficiary perspective. The stories developed through this assignment must have common story thread that is based on promotion of positive local initiatives and successes, achieved by the BIH citizens and businesses. The overarching objective is to promote BIH at its best through success stories.
Stories will be published online on UNDP, donor and partner websites, as well as social media. Stories will be at least 500 words long and written in one of the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The consultancy is planned within the “Competitiveness and Innovation: Local Development Strategies – EU4Business” project (2018-2022), primarily funded by the European Union (EU). It is jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ), and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
EU4Business project has an overall aim to contribute to economic growth and job creation through support for competitiveness and innovation in export-oriented sectors (e.g. wood processing, metal, textile, plastics or information and communication technologies), as well as in agriculture, food production, tourism and rural development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Project also actively supports the improvement of the business environment by providing technical assistance to relevant authorities in the country in the design, management and monitoring of financial incentives meant to strengthen competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, improve cross-sectoral cooperation, and stimulate entrepreneurial initiatives, including development of local digital entrepreneurship.
UNDP is responsible for the implementation of the project activities related to agriculture, food production and rural development. So far, three public calls for potential beneficiaries were launched to support commercial agricultural holdings, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food industry, and local communities and socio-economic stakeholders for rural development. Please visit our interactive map to learn more about our beneficiaries.
The main beneficiaries of the project are commercial farmers, agri-food processing companies, local communities and rural farmers, governmental institutions, business development organizations.
The consultancy will support the successful presentation of project results along all of its components, focusing in particular on the integrated nature of the intervention.
There is an ever-increasing need to promote EU4Business project results and disseminate good practices, also showcasing the critical contribution of the EU, as the project donor, to economic development.
While there have been a number of initiatives aimed at communicating project activities and results over the past two years, web and print media remain a valuable source of information for the wider public in BIH.
