JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Project Officer

Project / Department Title: WFP Project

Direct supervisor / Reports to: Project Manager

Overall objective of the job:

The project officer provide support to the project manager in term of communicating, reporting, response to complaints, and attend and participate in meetings. Taking the initiative in monitoring the distribution process of food support. Leading the outreach activities, and coordinate with other stakeholders. Contribute to the development of the activities of the project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the daily distribution trackers.
  • Prepare the daily and weekly reports.
  • Communicate with the field team and collect feedback from the team members.
  • Response to the complaints through the assigned mechanism.
  • Ensure the gender and protections principles are implemented during the distribution.
  • Take notes and prepare Minutes of Meetings and share it with the team.
  • Take the lead on following up with other supporting department (HR, Procurement, and MEAL).
  • Providing technical support to project manager in preparation of monthly, quarterly reports and trackers.
  • Take the lead on any community outreach activities.
  • Performs other assigned tasks within the overall scope of his/her role.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences or other related disciplines.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint in a professional way.

Experiences & Abilities:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in project implementation positions in a humanitarian context, preferably in food distribution.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Humanitarian Reform process and the role of the humanitarian community (UN System and NGO).
  • Significant experience in relief setting with food distribution management or managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.
  • Excellent oral communication and written English skills required.
  • Applied knowledge in program management, project formulation, its program cycles, and reporting standards.
  • Program planning and management skills.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate training sessions.
  • Ability to develop capacity building frameworks and work plans.
  • Commitment to IYD core value and principles.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and representation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational, multitasking and time-management skills.
