Job Purpose

Violet Organization for Relief and Development is a Turkish-registered, Syrian-founded humanitarian organization that has been responding with lifesaving and life-sustaining assistance to vulnerable communities affected by the Syrian crisis since 2012. Now, we are eager also to investigate responding to humanitarian and development needs in Turkey. We envision our Turkey response as covering the urgent needs of Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities as well as projects that strengthen social cohesion, civil society, and economic empowerment. Our initial planned target group is women, youth, and children
For this specific position, we are looking for a motivated, candidate that can support our Turkey Program Manager in the set-up and development of our Turkey mission
The position will be reporting directly to our Turkey Program Manager and will work closely with the program team
Having Turkish nationality and language skills is necessary. Female candidates are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities

Program Development
- Support in developing a set-up strategy for Violet’s mission in Turkey aligned with Violet’s organizational mission and strategy
- Assist in identifying relevant stakeholders in the Turkey context

Networking, Coordination, and Liaison
- Actively participate in cluster or network meetings and represent Violet towards INGOs and peers, when assigned
- Preparing and updating strategic analysis of the government policies and procedures related to NGO’s work

- Contributing to the development and implementation of government engagement strategy

Fundraising from donors, charities, and the private sector

Identifying potential funding opportunities from institutional donors, private donors, charities, and foundations as well as the private sector

Assist in developing proposals and concepts for projects in Turkey; lead proposal writing and development for assigned calls

If projects are assigned, project management

Support project planning, including defining project scope, objectives, and timelines and identifying project deliverables and resources

Develop project work plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against milestones and timelines

Ensure effective communication and coordination among project stakeholders, including team members, vendors, and clients

Facilitate project meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and take meeting minutes

Monitor project risks and issues and develop and implement strategies to mitigate and resolve them

Coordinate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and other documents

Support project quality assurance and control by conducting regular project reviews and audits

Manage project-related procurement processes, including vendor selection and contracting

Develop and maintain project management tools and templates, including Gantt charts, project timelines, and risk logs

Reporting

Preparing monthly narrative reports timely and accurately

Tracking the admin and financial issues in an issue log

Reviewing the databases and ensuring that they are properly prepared for submission to the donors

Accountability and safeguarding:

Monitor and address the complaints and feedback received under the assigned projects in coordination with the accountability officer

Identify lessons learned from the complaints and feedback received and apply them to the project, where possible

Collaborate with the safeguarding focal point to ensure all child safeguarding and PSEA measures are applied and followed in the project

Coordination:

Participate in clusters or working groups, if assigned

Attending the working groups and clusters related to response in Turkey

Facilitate the coordination with theMEAL and supporting departments including finance, Media, logistics, and HR

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

Essential

University degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Development studies, or similar

Well experience working in Turkish civil society, humanitarian organizations, or similar

Fluent level of English and Turkish

Turkish nationality

Desirable

Existing networks within the Turkish civil society

Arabic language skills are an asset, but not mandatory

Project management skills and well experience in coordination mechanism

C. Technical Competencies

Computer skills (Very good in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook)

Good understanding of the situation and stakeholder response in Turkey

Strong written and verbal communications skills required

The ability to assess cultural and social realities and adapt work accordingly

The ability to handle various deadlines and time management skills
