ABOUT THE TEAM
The Foundations Executive works in the Foundation Partnerships Team; a high-performing, ambitious and supportive team of nine people that sits within the wider Partnerships and Philanthropy department. The Partnerships and Philanthropy department encompasses the Foundations, Corporate, and Philanthropy teams.
The Foundation Team’s purpose is to build and nurture strategic partnerships to realise their full potential. The team has experienced exciting success and growth over the last seven years; growing income from around £3 million in 2012 to £12 million in 2020. The team has ambitions to continue to grow over the coming 5 years, and this role will be key to enabling the team to achieve even greater results for children.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Foundations Executive is a key role within the Foundation Partnerships team, working to maximise income for UNICEF’s work for children through managing donors and prospects and supporting the wider team on key partnerships.
What we will expect you to achieve
Manage a portfolio of five-figure trusts and foundations, building and nurturing relationships with trustees and key contacts, and providing timely information, proposals and reports to secure income for UNICEF’s work.
Provide the highest level of donor care, including bespoke and creative stewardship for existing supporters and developing genuine two-way and face-to-face relationships.
Identify and research new prospective trust and foundation donors, and find creative ways to engage them with UNICEF to secure new funding.
Support others in the Foundation Partnerships team on key donor relationships; assisting with day-to-day partnership activity, and second-key working larger trusts and foundations where needed and appropriate.
Supporting the Foundation Partnerships team to produce donor reports by extracting, analysing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate UNICEF’s impact.
Lead and assist on the planning and execution of donor engagement events, attending where necessary and supporting the wider division’s events calendar.
Work closely with International Programmes Engagement (IPE) colleagues to keep abreast of programmatic and humanitarian developments. Also work closely with IPE and Finance to ensure that funds are transferred in a timely way to the field.
Work closely across the Partnerships and Philanthropy division, particularly with counterparts in the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams, to streamline internal systems, share information and support the division to work as effectively as possible.
Work with the Prospect Research and Strategic Proposal Writing Teams to support research and prospecting activity and actively take on new prospects, taking part in peer review and leadership-related activity as appropriate.
Create a range of communications for team use as and when required, including emergency alerts and updates, programme reports and stewardship pieces.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Foundation Partnerships team operational plans and strategies, and actively input into team meetings.
Liaise with the Private Funding Lead to support monthly financial reporting, taking ownership for income targets within your caseload and providing accurate, detailed information to inform quarterly reforecast and KPI activities.
Maintain an accurate database and filing system, ensuring that records are kept fully up to date with all donor and prospect communications, plans and information.
Demonstrate and model a commitment to our shared values, behaviours and inclusive practices (known as The Unicef Way) in all aspects of your work.
