Within the 2022-2026 Cooperation programme with the Government of Viet Nam, the Child Protection Programme is designed to support the Government to protect children and adolescents, especially the most vulnerable boys and girls from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect and unnecessary family separation. UNICEF Viet Nam is looking for a qualified and passionate Child Protection Officer, for 364 days with the possibility of extension, to provide the critical support and ensure technical excellence on strengthening the national child protection system. Specifically, the position will provide support for the accelerated implementation of the child protection workforce strengthening, social work development, development of child protection policies and services in the health and education sectors, and strengthening child protection information management system, including development of a digital case management system.

To qualify as a champion for every child, the candidate must have:

A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another social science field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas. Relevant experience in programme development in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset. Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage. Fluent in English.
