Description of Duties

  • Primary responsibilities of the position include business application support, systems analysis and design, and reviewing and developing enterprise systems for iMMAP’s Clients.
  • The developer performs application development, maintenance, security administration, information reporting, customer analysis, and other duties related to program analysis and development.
  • Work closely with other developers, product engineers, and visual designers to build a compelling, responsive, and scalable user experience.
  • Building and maintaining web applications.
  • Review and optimize the app usage by monitoring key metrics and rectifying the issues proactively.
  • Follow industry-standard web development design patterns, methodologies, and deployment models.
  • Help drive the REST API design, required for integrating the web application with the back-end web services.
  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and bring in optimal flow for rapidly changing design/ technology.
  • Unit testing is expected, and some components may be initially driven using mocked data.
  • Collaborate on technical designs for applications as requested by the iMMAP team or iMMAP partners
  • Develop web mapping applications and geo-processing tools to support GIS.
  • Understand customer requirements and develop GIS applications to meet business needs.
  • Analyze customer issues and provide resolutions.
  • Make presentations and demos so that clients clearly understand the GIS application.
  • Reporting: Ensure all activities are adequately documented.
  • System Support: first-line support for the System, receiving and troubleshooting queries and problems with the System from staff and end users.
  • Reporting: Ensure all activities are properly documented.
  • Using existing open-source technologies to create an environment for real-time interactive maps Info-graphics visualizations and dashboards.
  • Any other duties as required.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of software development.
  • University degree or related technical training in computer information systems, database administration, software development
  • Knowledge of the ESRI range of technical products and tools.
  • Experience in database administration and management.
  • Knowledge of ESRI Products, ArcGIS Server or Geoserver
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing with AWS and Azure Data Services
  • Knowledge of Python, Django Framework, and Postgres SQL
  • Knowledge of Linux Server and Windows Server administration
  • Knowledge of General Software and Hardware Troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Fileserver Administration (NAS)

Preferred

  • Proven ability and experience interacting with various organizations while upholding humanitarian principles of impartiality and neutrality.
  • Practical experience working in emergency response or other fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Experience in open-source web mapping solutions is an advantage.
