The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is a policy and action research organisation promoting sustainable development and linking local priorities to global challenges.

The Natural Resources Group at IIED is looking for a highly skilled individual to develop and manage action research programmes to strengthen the governance of land and land-based investment.

The Legal Tools Team in IIED’s Natural Resources Group works to strengthen rights in the context of land-based investments. Working with partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America, the team employs a mix of action-research approaches to inform national and international policy and support socio-legal empowerment at the grassroots.

To succeed in this role, you will be experienced at building and maintaining collaborative partnerships and communicating confidently with a diverse range of partners from different backgrounds and cultures. You will have substantial practical experience working on law in a sustainable development context. You will be fluent in English with excellent oral and written skills and must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline as per the job description.
