Second-level university degree in international studies, public policy, political science or law or related field(s); a first-level university degree in combination with two years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the second-level university degree; certified training course in a relevant field desirable

Minimum 6 years of relevant, diversified and progressively responsible professional experience including at least 3 years at the management level relevant to the actual position

Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Mission Leadership, as Senior Political Officer, you will take lead responsibility for the following tasks in support of the Mission's mandate and will be responsible for the following:
Acting as senior advisor to the Head of Mission on political issues and in particular the Transdniestrian Settlement process;Acting as a deputy for the Conflict Prevention and Resolution Programme Manager;Maintaining a broad array of contacts and providing political advice on developments in Moldova, on both the left and the right bank;Co-ordinating the work of the Mission's Political Office;Participating in and facilitating negotiations between the sides in all different formats of the Transdniestrian settlement process;Acting as liaison for the Mission with political and public officials and non-governmental representatives throughout Moldova on all mandate issues;Supervising the work of three staff;Performing other duties as required.
