Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategies and Partnerships, the Senior Advisor for Strategic Programming working closely with senior technical leadership, country office Directors and Technical Directors and partners and collaborators to design innovative project frameworks and program approaches supporting new or expanded organizational priorities and technical domains. The Senior Advisor leads and/or make significant contributions to the incubation of new ideas and concepts and the efficient advancement of newly funded initiatives and projects on order to position ICAP continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • * Develops strategic concepts, frameworks, tools, and processes supporting the advancement of organizational priorities. (20%)

    • Works with senior management and project teams across the organization to identify and document generalizable and replicable programmatic and project experiences and results and works to incorporate them into refined organizational strategies. (20%)
    • Shares and diffuses new, expanded or modified organizational strategies throughout the organization. (10%)
    • Provides strategic direction and guidance to new and/or special initiatives and projects to support concept incubation and early project implementation. (10%)
    • Identifies and communicates medium- and long-term organizational priorities for diversifying and improving programming consistent with organizational strategic plans (e.g., ICAP 2030); (10%)
    • Supports organization-wide implementation of strategic planning, by convening planning activities, assessing progress, disseminating results and lessons learned and tracking organizational performance against goals and objectives. (10%)
    • The incumbent leads the creation and ongoing management of repositories for relevant and timely program strategies, tools, and best practices. (15%)
    • Perform other assigned tasks. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field or equivalent in education, training and experience and 6 years of related experience.
  • At least 6 years of related experience or experience in conceptualization, design, management, and performance monitoring of international health and development projects.
  • Experience with organizational knowledge management/synthesis, program capture.
  • Experience working in resource-limited settings.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning experience and capacity to think strategically from a cross-organizational, human-centric perspective.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across matrixed organizations, in multi-cultural settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with health and development programs supported by the US Government, major international foundations., bilateral donors, and private funders.
  • Excellent skills in SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in French, Portuguese, Spanish or Russian; and
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in conceptualization, design, management, and performance monitoring of international health and development projects.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
