Background
The Research & Evaluation (R&E) department of FHI 360’s Global Education, Employment and Engagement (G3E) business unit provides technical leadership and technical support in the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and research activities. The R&E department develops and maintains standards of quality and rigor for all aspects of research, monitoring, and evaluation. Further, the R&E department works with G3E technical teams to develop and implement a robust research agenda that contributes to the global knowledge base on development solutions and advances FHI 360’s intellectual leadership.
Applied Knowledge & Skills:
Collecting data from secondary sources
Writing data snapshots and desk reviews on key topics
Supporting survey and in-depth interview instrument creation
Data cleaning and organizing
Qualitative data coding and analysis
Contributing to research studies and assisting with writing, reviewing and editing research manuscripts
Managing communications about research activities and products, including blogs, webinars and newsletters
Advanced language proficiency in French and/or Spanish preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with specialized software such as Stata, NVivo, Dedoose, R, Power Bi, etc.
Some knowledge of survey data collection procedures and software (ODK, Kobo, etc).
Education:
Associate Degree or its International Equivalent in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Field.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
0 - 2 years of relevant research (research assistantship, fellowship, etc) experience.
Prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
