NRC Poland was established in March 2022 in response to the Ukraine crisis and to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. Equally NRC started operations in Romania and Moldova, as well as is scaling up its humanitarian response in Ukraine where it has been operational since 2014. To support the regional response in the best way, NRC has established the Central and Eastern Europe Regional Office (CEERO), which is based in Warsaw, Poland. Within the context of this crisis the local actor community have shown incredible engagement and ability to step up to meet needs. Responding to this context NRC’s start up in neighbouring countries (Poland, Romania and Moldova) adopted a 100% partnership approach that enabled NRC to establish a presence through rapid deployment of resources to local actors with NRC providing quality assurance to project implementation.
