Standard Job Description Guard Organizational Setting and Work Relationships The Guard normally works under direct supervision of the Head Guard or Senior Field Safety Assistant. All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. In addition, staff members are required to discharge their responsibilities in a manner consistent with the core, functional, cross-functional and managerial competencies and UNHCR¿s core values of professionalism, integrity and respect for diversity. Duties - Patrols and maintains security of the office premises and grounds, including overnight guard duties, and reports any irregularities. - Responds to emergencies affecting the safety of the premises and notifies supervisor. - Opens and closes the building. - Checks that all office machines, air conditioners, lights, etc., are turned off after working hours. - Controls admissions of authorised personnel and movements of United Nations property into and out of the premises. - Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Education & Professional Work Experience Years of Experience / Degree Level For G1 - Completion of Primary Education; or High School Diploma or higher Field(s) of Education Not applicable.
