Protection Officer (1 position)
Reports to: Protection Manager / Team Leader.
Full time; based in Palabek.

Key responsibilities:
 Develop and review an operational plan and budget for implementing Sexual and Gender Based Violence related activities in line with the project objectives.
 Develop and implement networks and partnerships (linkages) with community structures and partners on SGBV prevention and response in line with the Referral Pathways.
 Plan and conduct awareness raising on Sexual and Gender Based Violence with the community and other relevant stakeholders in line with the SASA methodology.
 Provide psychosocial counseling to SGBV survivors and other persons of concern in line with the Case management guidelines.
 Plan and strengthen the capacity of community structures, partners and other relevant stakeholders on Sexual and Gender Based Violence prevention and response in line with the established procedures and guidelines.
 Carryout community outreaches on Sexual and Gender Based Violence and other related issues in line with the set standards.
 Conduct referrals of Sexual and Gender Based Violence patients, clients and survivors to relevant service providers in line with the referral pathway.
 Provide support to women and men groups in livelihoods for economic empowerment in line with SGBV risk reduction strategies.
Minimum qualifications:
 University Degree in Social sciences, Public health or other relevant field.
 At least 3 years training experience in addressing GBV and protection issues.
 Knowledge of GBV, gender, or public health with previous experience in GBV prevention and response programming; knowledge of the guiding principles and IASC Guidelines on GBV interventions in humanitarian settings.
 In-depth knowledge of training programs including assessments, instructional design, action planning, program delivery, and monitoring and evaluation.
 Extensive experience in technical and organizational capacity-building activities, in-depth knowledge of program design, including assessments, proposal writing, and program implementation.
 Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
 Knowledge of Kiswahili or local language of the population is added advantage.
