Protection Manager
Tripoli, Libya
Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Protection Manager to lead our Protection programming in Tripoli, Libya.
DRC has been operating in Libya since 2011 and is currently present in Tripoli, Benghazi and Sabah – with a coordination office in Tunis, Tunisia. DRC Libya focuses primarily on lifesaving activities for conflict-affected populations, through the provision of integrated and principled humanitarian assistance, services and advocacy – as well as broader programming focusing on longer-term and transitional solutions for people in protracted displacement situations. DRC Libya works with refugees, IDPs, returnees and host communities strengthening cohesion and resilience with protection, cash, livelihoods, shelter/WASH, education/risk education, and humanitarian mine action and peacebuilding programmes. The operation has around 200 employees (of which 30 are international staff) with a total annual budget of around USD 15 million.
About the job
The Protection Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of DRC’s program of protection and humanitarian assistance. The position provides technical guidance and leadership in all aspects of the management of the program, including project implementation, planning and supervision of activities, coordination with partners and stakeholders, management of staff and local partners, monitoring and reporting.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

· To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5-years’ experience working in Protection for international humanitarian organizations in complex conflict settings, including as a minimum 3-years’ experience in a managerial capacity
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
· University degree in a relevant subject, such as human rights law, refugee law, humanitarian affairs, migration, international relations and/or international development.
· Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
· Master’s degree in a relevant subject
· Knowledge of Arabic
