Job Purpose

The Project worker - WaSH activities provision will operate as a part of WASH team to support and follow up the water supply, water quality (chlorination process) and all basic WaSH services activities (Garbage collection, dislodging, cleaning of public latrines) provided to IDPs in Azaz camps according to standardized ACTED’s rules.

Under the authority of: WASH Assistant, Wash Officer

Line Management: NA

Working Relations

Internal: wash team in Azaz camps

External: IDPs in Azaz camps & WASH service providers & trucks drivers for WASH services.

Objectives

  • Ensure the WaSH activities are in progress as planned and designed and within the quality required.
  • Daily updates for management about shelter activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Following up water trucking and basic WASH activities related to the water in the camps by using the Logbook of the water trucking.
  • Monitor and assess in managing the water distributed by the water networks in the camps.
  • Ensure that all predestined water trucking and other basic WASH services trips are delivered on time and to the required location
  • Ensure that water trucks drivers are delivering water to the agreed location.
  • Ensure that water trucks are full and deliver the required amount of water in each trip.
  • Conduct water chlorination for water trucks at the water source, and make sure that the chlorinated water had waited for a sufficient contact time before the water is distributed, according to his/her direct line manager instructions
  • Conduct random FRC tests and communicate results with the chlorinators
  • Make sure that all tests’ results are recorded properly and sent in time to the supervisor.
  • Absolute Preparedness to work in all ACTED camps within the Azaz area to monitor WaSH services provision.
  • Following up the implementation of Solid waste collection activities in camps and make sure of empty the garbage bins on daily basis.
  • Following up the implementation of dislodging activities in camps on daily basis.
  • Following up the implementation of public latrines cleaning activities in camps on daily basis
  • Work outside duty hours in an emergency maintenance situation.
  • Any other tasks related to work when required by the line manager.

Key Performance Indicators

· 100% Wash activities are implemented as planned and designed in timely manner.

· 100% Compliance and adherence to ACTED polices and Standards

· 100% Daily updates to line management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary education level or second stage of basic education level/certificate ;
  • Fluent Arabic (written and spoken);
  • The applicant must be a resident of one of working clusters (at all ACTED's clusters) or from the neighbouring areas (Azaz area).
  • The applicant must hold ID from Northern Aleppo issued by the LC
  • Have previous experience in the field of following up Wash services.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principle
  • Ability to multitask with competing demands under tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Completely able to work and not engaged with any other jobs.
