• Managing project implementation and collaborating with the implementing partners to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives.
  • Coordination and monitoring of project activities, implementing partners and grantees, and provision of  quality policy advisory services and technical support to the Government and project implementing partners
  • Develop linkages and partnerships for youth development and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and learning
  • Ensures effective implementation of the project and  application of RBM tools for planning, budgeting, implementing and monitoring of the programme, tracking use of financial resources in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations.
  • Liaise and cooperate closely with project partners to ensure the smooth implementation of the project and undertake regular monitoring and analysis of the project environment and facilitates timely adjustments, as necessary.
  • Prepares reports on delivery of project objectives, and financial resources, and other areas of accountability to UNDP for regular performance monitoring and ensure implementation of any corrective actions as recommended.
  • Provide technical support to project implementing partners and facilitate capacity building as may be needed to ensure high-level project results and compliance to UNDP requirements and procedures 
  • Support development of UNDP internal mechanisms for coordinating youth development agenda
  • Provide technical support to the implementing partners and grantees as may be required for effective implementation of the project activities
  • Identify and leverage documentation of best practices and lessons learned directly linked to the project and youth development agenda
  • Ensure up-to date data and information on youth development agenda in Lesotho, and facilitate use of innovative mechanisms for data collection, and collection of evidence-basis on the project
  • Develop knowledge resources and briefs as may be required on youth development agenda and to support UNDP’s engagement in this area
  • Establish a community of knowledge and advocacy on youth development in Lesotho in collaboration with the project partners and stakeholders in youth development
  • Effectively participate and ensures sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice on issues related to youth development and youth innovations,
  • Seek opportunities to develop close linkages and partnerships with government, business and other NGOs nationally and internationally for supporting youth-led ideas
  • Connect and mobilize youth-focused ideas and inputs from project partners and team members to improve project implementation and outcomes for youth development

  • Proven understanding and experience in youth development issues, enterprises development, civic engagement and partnerships development
  • Experience working with community- based organizations, cooperatives and MSMEs, especially youth-led, in Lesotho will be an asset.
  • Proven understanding of modern development issues, including innovations for development, technology, access to finance and data in the context of Lesotho and youth development
  • Good organization and coordination skills, networking with experience interrelationships between different stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the Lesotho youth development agenda, NSDP II, and SDGs, will be an added advantage
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines Strong communication skills
