About TDA:

The Day After is a Syrian-led organization that works for democratic transition in Syria. TDA works with its partners among Syrian CSOs and international human rights organizations to influence Syrian and non-Syrian stakeholders for the favor of the democratic transition and to keep transitional justice and accountability as a high priority during transition.

Through its programs, TDA aims at strengthening the capacity of key civil society actors working on transitional justice and rule of law as well as representatives of victims of human rights and amplifying their voices within policy debates through developing widely supported, evidence-based recommendations and channeling them to the negotiating parties and other stakeholders. We pursue this mission simultaneously through “bottom-up” and “top-down” strategies to ensure that transitional justice is not dropped off the negotiations.

Scope of Work

Fort that purposes, TDA will implement a project aims to establish linkages between the Constitutional Committee of the Opposition with its constituency outside Syria, mainly in Turkey, and to help better understand the needs of their constituents, and advocate for various positions. Turkey hosts approximately 4 million Syrian refugees. Cities like Gaziantep, Antakya, Urfah, and Istanbul are hubs for many Syrian organizations providing support to Syrians inside the country. These cities host the highest population of Syrians residing in Turkey. TDA will organize 12 meetings between the Constitutional Committee and representatives of Syrian communities in each of these cities over the duration of the project. The project identifies two types of meetings:

• Town Hall Meetings: These meetings will focus on an educative interaction between the Constitutional Committee and members of the public. o Meetings will take place in Gaziantep and Istanbul.

• Thematic Meetings: These meetings will focus on topical concerns facing the Constitutional Committee in negotiations and Syrian experts and influencers in each location.

TDA seeks a full-time consultant to fill the position of Program Manager in its head office in Istanbul. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate implementation of the project activities.

Key responsibilities and duties:

· Prepare a balanced, inclusive, and updated lists of representatives of Syrian civil society and other stakeholders in Turkey to participate in the meetings with the Constitutional Committee in consultation with the executive director.

· Ensure effective communication with the Constitutional Committee as well as the representatives of the Syrian civil society in Turkey about the activities of the project.

· Contribute to the design of the meetings including the development of the agenda.

· Ensure that the conclusions of the meetings are properly documented and shared with the stakeholders on timely manner.

· Ensure that the M&E officer as well as the Financial Officer are receiving the necessary information for sufficient reporting.

Skills and qualifications:

· Relevant academic degree in the fields of international development, transitional justice, political science, or a related social sciences or statistics field

· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

· Strong written and organizational skills for monitoring and reporting on results

· Good understanding of the context of the Syrian conflict

· Excellent written communication skills in English, including proven experience writing donor reports and effectively synthesizing monitoring data

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· High proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)

· Strong computer skills: proven ability to use MS Office

· Knowledge/experience in statistics is an asset

· Experience in gender equality and/or reporting on gender issues is an asset
