Org. Setting And Reporting
The Project Coordinate will report directly to Senior Humanitarian Principles Coordinator.
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff from a variety of different departments (Department of Education,
    Protection, Information Management and Technology, Finance and Human Resources) across
    all five fields (Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank, Jordan);
  • Authorize project expenses based on project plans and UNRWA financial planning;
  • Develop project implementation budgets, and plan and forecast grant expenditure, project
    activities, procurement and staffing to ensure compliance with the project contract and to
    prevent overspending or underspending;
  • Ensure recruitment processes relevant to the project are happening in a timely manner;
  • With the Reporting Officer ensure that the relevant data is collected and reported to donors
    in a timely fashion.

    Education
    • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Social Sciences, Finance,
    International Development, or any other related field.
    Work Experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in project management, international development, or related
    fields;
  • Minimum of two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA,
    and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport
    or a national identity number.
  • Experience of working with the humanitarian principles in the United Nations (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Palestine refugees and/or humanitarian response and development in the
    Middle East (desirable)
    Languages
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
    • Knowledge of Arabic (desirable)
    Assessment
    Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be
    followed by competency-based interview.
    Special Notice
    • Type of Contract and duration: Temporary appointment for a duration of 11 months,
    extendable according to performance and availability of funds;

    • The incumbent will be based in HQ Amman, COVID-19 depending, with frequent travel in
    the Agency's five fields of operation.
    • Ability to travel in the Agency's area of operations in the Middle East, COVID-19 allowing.
