Job Summary

The Project Assistant is responsible is to assist in the implementation of the project activities in the area of coverage.

Responsibilities

  1. Community Partnership Building

  2. In collaboration with other POs assigned to other project in the same area, assist in conducting session with key municipal and community leaders to secure their interest and commitments

  3. Assist in Facilitating the gathering/updating of project baseline data into community profile and ensure that these are communicated in the community in collaboration with other POs.

  4. Encourage and actively participate in interagency municipal/barangay events to foster greater team work among development players in collaboration with other POs.

  5. Project Management

  6. Assist in facilitating project implementation based from the operational plan

  7. Assist in facilitating monitoring and reflection sessions with community partners including children.

  8. Document community projects, activities and processes highlighting the best practices

  9. Submit to Project Coordinator needed project reports for consolidation

  10. Support the Project Coordinator in the facilitation of purchase request and purchase orders needed for the project

  11. Reporting

  12. Prepare and submit accomplishment reports to completion within agreed deadlines for the assigned project.

  13. Ensure proper documentation best practices of implementation process of the projects

  14. Comply with organizational policies and standards at all times in reporting incidences and concerns in the assigned area.

  15. Compliance to Corporate Mandates

  16. Comply with all organizational policies and standards such as but not limited to Child Safeguarding Policy, Anti-Fraud, Whistle Blower Policy, and P&C, Finance and Operations policies and procedures

  17. Participation in any Country Office committee as requested

  18. Personal Development

  19. Attends internally and externally facilitated training events, workshops, symposiums, studies, conferences to enhance level of performance. Maximize the use of ICT for greater awareness of local and global trends affecting development work. Accepts special objective assignments for skills enhancement and expansion.

  20. Shares learning to benefit others

  21. Performs other tasks that are needed to ensure deliverables of project/program implementation will be met.

Direct implementation of project, advocacy, and activities in the assigned area in close coordination with local partners and stakeholders.

Successful implementation of projects within the assigned area and strong acceptance and partnerships with the local partners and stakeholders, reflected through dependable community mobilization and volunteerism.

Essential qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Worker, Sociology, Education, Health Sciences and other related courses. Graduates of other course may be considered if s/he has the experience and competency requirements of the role.

Work experience

Knowledge and Practice

  • Understanding of a child rights-based approach and/or a human rights-based approach

  • In-depth knowledge of requirements and competencies of development/aid workers

  • Partnership building and networking experience with INGOs and Networks relevant to EDUCO’s priorities
