Syria CO is progressively expanding the use of cash-based transfer (CBT) to reach beneficiaries. Due to the expansion of the CBT’s portfolio, it is critical for the CO to ensure that internal controls and the CBT assurance framework are in place in order to ensure that the right people are receiving the right
CBT benefits at the right time. WFP must ensure that it has the capacity needed to match the expanding CBT portfolio, including the use of digital systems and services to enable the office to implement assurance measures and other good practices across the cash transfer cycle.
The purpose of the assignment is to provide analytics and contributions to CBT activities and contribute to the planning and coordination of field operations to ensure an effective and integrated CBT approach meets the essential needs of beneficiaries and ensures that appropriate risk mitigation measures and
standards are implemented throughout the programme cycle.
The position holder will report to the CBT Assurance consultant.
Education:
Advanced University degree in Computer Science/engineering, Economics/Statistics or Information Management, or First University degree with First University Degree with additional years of related work experience.
Experience:
With an Advanced University Degree: At least 1 year of responsible post graduate relevant professional experience in IT projects or emergency assistance in the related field, in addition to proven experience in system development for humanitarian purposes, programme implementation, and/or money transfer operations, and commercial transactions.
With a First University Degree: At least 3 years of responsible post graduate relevant professional experience in IT projects or emergency assistance in the related field, in addition to proven experience in system development for humanitarian purposes, programme implementation, and/or money transfer operations, and commercial transactions.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and in English.
