This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Finance Manager to provide coordination, management and hands-on support to the development and growth of Grants Finance management across International Alert, one of the world’s largest and most respected peacebuilding organisations with a 30-year track record.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and leading a team of Senior Grants Officers, you will provide strategic input to the management of Programmes and will be responsible for ensuring the robustness of Alert Grant/Project Management Systems. You will actively shape the role in response to evolving needs as the organisation continues to grow and develop and will lead on the grant audit function and set up systems to manage and monitor all grant audits. You will contribute to the strategic evolution of the Finance and Operation functions alongside other members of the Finance and Operations management team and will specifically lead on aspects of Grant/Project Management and Country Office support. You will contribute to organisational priorities – including the establishment of virtual hubs, development of management capacity in-country offices, partner management and progress on commercial contracting. You will also lead on setting up financial systems and controls to guarantee the integrity of Programmes and enable Programmes to keep pace with new demands.

We are seeking a qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience in Grants Management in an INGO environment, with strong analytical, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills. You will have experience in developing, negotiating and managing commercial bids and contracts. Experience in budgeting and budget management is also essential. We are in the process of change, so the ability to adapt, work independently and be tech-savvy would be advantageous. Commercial awareness, keeping up with emerging trends and a strong interest/experience in the INGO environment would also be beneficial for this position, as well as knowledge of another Internationally spoken language.

A good level of spoken and written English and French language is essential for this role.
