FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) is the world’s largest international human rights body. Since 1922, we have been engaged in the defense of all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The International Secretariat of FIDH is comprised of a diverse, multi-cultural team with 47 staff based in Paris and an additional 13 staff across offices in Brussels, The Hague and Geneva. Our premises are located in a lively and central district of Paris (close to Bastille and Gare de Lyon).

FIDH has invested significantly in its team, systems and fundraising processes over the past few years in order to increase and diversify its donor database. The Fundraising department is made up of 4 people, including this role. We are recruiting a:

PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER

General objective of the position : Solicit and manage funding, mostly from foundations and institutional funders, in close collaboration with the programme department and under the supervision of the Director of Fundraising.

Your main responsibilities

  1. Prospect Research

    • Conduct research on potential funders ;

    • Prepare, in the Salesforce database, cultivation plans for these potential funders.

  2. Management of donor relations

    • Build strong relationships through relevant communications, negotiation and coordination ;

    • Ensure that funders are well managed and have targeted cultivation plans in place ;

    • Represent FIDH in NGO networks on matters relating to human rights, the financing of Official Development Assistance and support to civil society.

  3. Acquisition of new funding for programmes

  4. Development of the FIDH strategy

    • Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy ;

    • Contribute to the strategic thinking of the programme department as a fundraising focal point.

  5. Capacity building

    • Help develop tools and improve the skills of FIDH staff, particularly on the use of the recently established Salesforce database.

Required profile

Possessing a higher education (Bac + 4/5), you know essential fundraising techniques (prospect research and programme development) and have demonstrated at least 4 years of success in a similar function, in another NGO or a social enterprise. In-depth knowledge of European and international institutional donors, as well as foundations, is essential. Knowledge of issues related to human rights and / or international development is required. Experience in project development, monitoring-evaluation and / or project management is strongly recommended.

You have excellent inter-personal and writing skills. You are highly organised, entrepreneurial and a self-starter. Your rigour and your vivacity will allow you to carry out the various activities which will be entrusted to you.

You know how to analyse, negotiate and persuade others. Knowledge of the Ubuntu environment is desirable. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus. You are fluent in English (level B2) and French (level B2) both written and spoken. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Salary terms and conditions

Permanent contract. Employee status. Position based in Paris, telework possible 1 day per week. Salary from 34 K€ gross annually over 13 months. 23 RTT days per year. Complementary health insurance covered 80% by FIDH. Restaurant vouchers with a face value of 8.40 €, covered at 60% by FIDH. Support for 50% of the public transport subscription.
