CHAI started supporting Indonesia’s Ministry of Health in 2008 to scale up adult anti-retroviral therapy, through improving supply chain management; as well as technical assistance for improving the quality of ART and laboratory systems to support HIV care and treatment. In recent years, CHAI has expanded its support to the Ministry of Health to other areas including hepatitis and helping to facilitate BMS to and donate pan genotyping DAA, daclatasvir, more effective treatment for HCV patient, improving access to family planning, point of care diagnostics, m-health, maternal and child health, scooping assistive technology in Indonesia so no one left behind, and technical support for the Ministry of Health’s drive to sustainably fund healthcare. In mid-2016, CHAI launched its vaccines program to support the EPI and Ministry of Health in Indonesia introduce the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) and strengthen broader immunization systems, including cold chain, supply chain, and immunization financing, among other things. From 2017-2020 CHAI supported the government execute a PCV demonstration project in select districts as well as support national-level decision-making on PCV introduction. CHAI has been requested to support MoH national scale of New Vaccine Introduction including Rota Vaccine.

CHAI is currently seeking a Program Officer Vaccoine, NVI-Rota who will be supervised by Senioor Program Managet and Vaccine Program Manager. This position will be based in Jakarta.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and administrative support to Program Manager to ensure smooth and successful program development and implementationEnsure effective communication with key local partners and internal program for better coordination and planningOperationalize and implement recommendations and technical guidance as agreed with local partnersIn coordination with Vaccine Program Manager, support government partners at national level with planning, analytics, problem-solving and implementing of their Rota introduction strategyWork closely and support partners at subnational level (Provincial and District Office of Health, Primary Health centre and other related local government bodies), including communities to ensure the success of the Rota program implementationFacilitate monitoring, evaluation and analysis for continuous program adaptation and improvementEnsure the documentation of activities and outcomes in order to create replicable models and policy advocacy documentsPerform basic finance and admin functions as needed under the guidance of the CHAI Finance teamPerform any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager and or Senior Program Manager and or Program Director

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a medical, public health or a quantitative discipline and least three years of work experience within a demanding and results-driven environmentFluency in English (oral and written) and in IndonesianStrong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and in a change-oriented mannerEntrepreneurial ability to work quickly and effectively with minimal supervisionSensitivity to cultural contextsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines and to absorb and synthesize a broad range of informationStrong leadership and diplomacy skillsThe ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders, both at national and subnational levelProven track record working in challenging multi-stakeholder environmentsExcellent attitude to the work and self-motivated personaExperience working in unpredictable environment, willingness to adaptExperience in healthcare, and knowledge of the Indonesian Health System is an advantage
