Background

The CDC Enhancing Global Health Security (EGHS) project is a global mechanism that supports Global Health Security Agenda goals through programs and activities focused on protecting and improving health security at country and regional levels. The project is implementing activities to provide technical assistance to recipients of the Global Fund COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) grants in Cambodia. Working closely with the Local Team, we require the Project Officer with local public health experience and a strong understanding of the local landscape and stakeholders to support the work activities as follows:

To meet with key, relevant stakeholders in coordinating and implementing activities defined in the approved local workplan which includes priorities for laboratory and surveillance system strengthening and pandemic preparedness. To support the implementation and monitoring of the progress of activities and deliverables as per the approved workplan and deadline. To identify and communicate staffing needs with the country office and regional office/HQ. To coordinate project implementation with technical team and regional/headquarters management staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Fields.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices in the field of public health preferably in HIV, TB, or other infectious diseases.
  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
  • Effective skills to coordinate among various government agencies, organizations, international technical agencies, organizations, and donors.
  • Demonstrated experience in communication with government officials and high-level individuals.
  • Fluency in local and English language is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to lead a stream of work.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with a multi-cultural team.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Relevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office).
