About The Role

In coordination with the Re:Coded Leadership Team, the Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of Re:Coded’s flagship programs including coding bootcamps, a pilot training of trainers (ToT) program, workshops and entrepreneurship activities in at least two cities in Iraq. The Program Manager is responsible for leading the overall coordination and strategic direction of programs and management of program teams, while also representing the organization externally at a senior level. The Program Manager will be based in Erbil with frequent travel to other cities in Iraq and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Management and Leadership

  • Set up and help manage the roadmap for digital skills training programs in two cities in Iraq including the measurement and reporting of operational and information flow.

  • Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff, communicating clear expectations, providing regular and radically candid performance feedback, and setting quarterly performance reviews.

  • Promote a strong team spirit, creating an environment of continuous learning, where program staff are encouraged and supported to grow and develop.

  • Maintain and implement “playbooks”, which are detailed manuals that document all relevant parts of the Re:Coded model of operation; continually update and improve manuals in preparation for training other teams.

  • Ensure the consistent collection of program and trainer feedback, attendance and other administrative tasks, analyze data and provide strategic targeted feedback to staff and leadership.

  • Implement and maintain highly-structured processes, systems and recommendations for programs.

  • Take the lead on communicating across teams and functions to foster collaboration and information sharing between programs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing a diverse team and/or operations, with strong leadership components.

  • Exceptional track record managing complex operations and nimble teams across multiple locations.

  • Experience building personal networks at a senior level (i.e. executives, investors, donors, partners and governmental bodies), leading to new opportunities for the organization.

  • Good understanding of program, financial and operational management processes.

  • Passion for problem-solving in contexts with high ambiguity.

  • Strong budget and fiscal oversight capacities.

  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with honesty and integrity.

  • Experience working in the Middle East, Africa or Asia is a strong asset.

  • Fluency in English is required. Arabic is an asset.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to easily navigate all platforms within G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
