ActionAid Arab Region Initiative (AAAR) is looking for Program Coordinator – Youth & Community Engagement Program who is Reporting into the Program Manager for the Youth & Community Engagement Program, the Program Coordinator is responsible for direct support to program partners delivering the English language, digital and life skills program through development of program plans, training delivery, mentoring and coordination with partners and stakeholders. In addition, Program Coordinator will work closely with community stakeholders and program volunteers that support the mission of the program. Based in North, South or Central Jordan, with frequent travel to Amman, providing regional program delivery. Note this role is subject to successful award of the contract.

Direct Reports: Coordinators, Volunteers, Officers and relevant consultants and interns.

Areas of Responsibilities

Key Activities

Strategic Engagement :

Engage with regional and community-based stakeholders as needed, including government agencies, partner organizations and community-based groups · Effectively represent Action Aid Arab Region and the Youth & Community Engagement Program to all stakeholders · Manage regional and community-based strategic relationships to support effective program delivery, and create new regional and community-based relationships as needed. · Act as primary point of contact for the Youth & Community Engagement Program at a regional level

Program coordination:**

Work with the Program Manager and other Regional Program Coordinators and implementing partners to develop and monitor project workplans to meet agreed targets · Work with implementing partners to deliver agreed activities to a high standard, on-time and within budget · Work with MEAL coordinator to monitor and evaluate success of program delivery, incorporating learning continuously · Facilitate training for implementing partners and volunteers in the areas of English language, digital and life skills learning · Work with compliance and program colleagues to plan for, manage and monitor program risks, including health, safety and safeguarding.

· Ensure that regional programme challenges and risks are immediately raised to the Programme Manager. · Experience in managing program budgets and finances

Humanitarian Programme :

Participate in Monthly/Quarterly Team meetings for planning and personal development · Support continuous learning and development among the team towards cost-effective achievement of intended program results, sharing learning and expertise. · Participate in annual and midterm staff appraisals are conducted in line with the AA AR policy and staff development plans are implemented as agreed · Ensure effective coordination with cross-functional support including but not limited to admin, finance, donor compliance, MEAL and other teams.

Partners :

· Support AAAR’s localization policy in all aspects of the humanitarian programme and promote the inclusion of local partners in coordination and advocacy meetings and events.

· Provide overall strategic management of the Humanitarian Programme’s local partners and adherence to AA’s partnership approach.

· Ensure partner proposals, plans, budgets and MOUs are developed in a timely manner, with support provided as required.

· Undertake partner appraisals and capacity assessments as necessary and ensure a capacity strengthening plan is in place for each and every local partner.

· Provide induction for partner staff on AA’s HRBA, women-led community based protection, accountability, safeguarding and all other relevant policies.

Provide inception workshops for all new projects/activities to ensure clarity, shared expectations and compliance to finance standards and donor requirements.Fundraising

GENERAL :

· Ensure effective and efficient coordination with all other AAAR teams and functions for the smooth operation of the programme.

· Mainstreaming transparency and accountability systems, tools and mechanism in AAAR.

· Ensure AAAR is adequately equipped and prepared for emergency response.

Ensure AA’s values, principles and HRBA is mainstreamed in the programme .

Person Specifiction:**

Education & Certifications : Education to degree level in relevant subject, such as development, education, youth development, or other.

Essential Experience Knowledge and Skills :

Four years relevant professional experience, or equal combination of education and experience in coordination § Experience delivering digital and/or life skills education programmes for young people § Understanding of social issues related to economic prosperity, education and community-driven development § Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse, team-oriented environment § Independence in working on complex problems in the field of specialization consistently applying creativity and independent judgment § Ability to work with implementing partner organizations, providing support and effective management § Result oriented person; ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines § Excellent oral and written communications skills in Arabic and English § Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and website content management § Experience working with young people, with the ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems

Ability to deal with the general public § Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment § Self-starter and team-player with enthusiasm for continuous learning

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills :

Experience of English language education programmes · Management of not for profit program with a Human Rights Based Approach. · Experience working in rural areas, with strong networks among youth and community groups in the region.
