Collaborate internally within the Agency and externally with the industry to provide the products’ vision features and priorities, ensuring synergies are leveraged across the portfolio of digital products. Review, analyse and translate business needs into technical specifications and work closely with business domain experts and development teams. Ensure that the products deliverables fulfil the business needs and are compliant with safety, security and quality standards and regulations. Collaborate with other product managers to ensure that dependencies with other portfolios of digital products are identified and managed, building a cross domain “big picture” of business products and services. Be responsible for the timely delivery of the digital products and their related deliverables; identify risks, obstacles, solve products related problems, conduct trade-off analyses, review priorities, take decisions and coordinate with relevant teams. Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of processes, working practices and tools supporting the iNM product delivery. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university studies of at least 4 years (e.g. Master’s degree) in Computer Science, Engineering or in another relevant domain or of 3 years plus 1 year relevant professional experience. Internal candidates should go to page check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate. In addition to the above, a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar function, preferably as product manager/owner. Generic competencies for all Product Managers (Domains: User, Flight, ATFM Performance (Network Impact Assessment & Simulations) and Airspace Management (ASM)): Experience with the application of modern software development methodologies and standards in large-scale software systems. Experience with system and software architectures. Experience with requirements gathering process. Understanding of business architecture concepts. Understanding or experience of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) concept of operations. Knowledge of agile methodology and principles. Project management skills. A PMI certification would be an asset. Experience with the following systems would be an advantage: Mission critical systems ATM systems NM operations and systems (e.g. IFPS, ETFMS, etc). The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The selected candidate will be required to become a basic user of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR). In addition to the generic competencies above, applicants need to demonstrate the following to be considered for the User Domain (UI/UX) Product Manager.

Applications will be accepted from nationals of EUROCONTROL Member States only. The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year (s) pursuant to the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. The contract may be renewed up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract. Before being established in the post, the selected candidate will be requested to provide certified copies of their degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months. The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
