Silk Road Organization is looking for "Procurement and supply chain Officer"

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics, and distribution, ensuring effectively functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.
  2. Ensure effective lines of communication between the Program Management Office, Project/Program Managers and the procurement team to ensure priority requirements, timely delivery of goods, works, and services using the most appropriate procurement procedures.
  3. Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors that facilitate the smooth flow of services to the Syria office and projects/programs.
  4. Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with the Organization Procurement Manual, and Financial police, relevant Organizational Directives, and Administrative Instructions.
  5. Procurement planning
  6. Follow up purchases requests in accordance with the approved procurement plan
  7. Leveraging technology to help in procurement functions.
  8. Contribution for enforcing procurement policies and procedures
  9. Training staff members to be knowledgeable about product quality requirements, how to determine when products are unacceptable, and what actions to take when quality standards are not met.
  10. Monitoring contracts to ensure that the supplier meets expectations and invoices are approved and paid on time.
  11. Making any required adjustments or changes to existing contracts after consultation with relevant departments including the finance.
  12. Keep track of all goods and services ordered and received, and maintain accurate inventory records including details on price, performance, and delivery.
  13. Ensure responsible procurement practices meet Silk Road objectives and compliance requirements.
  14. Procurement and supply chain Officer has the responsibility to negotiate with vendors.**Qualifications and Skills Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Administration , Engineering or any relevant field.** Higher-level qualification in a technical field.

Skills:

  • Three years of post-qualification professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Aptitude for community mobilization and capacity-building. Good communicator
  • Able to prioritize, to enforce procedures, and to set clear objectives for staff and to delegate.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with the team, beneficiaries, and other agencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of humanitarian standards such as Sphere and humanitarian standers.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
  • Good report writing skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Dynamic, creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner, self-motivated, and hard-working.
  • The ability to work in a systematic and organized manner.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in a professional way.
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
  • Good organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure
  • Capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives
