About the role:
Based in Mons, Belgium you will join NCIA as Principal Technician (ICT) within The Command and Control (C2) Centre Chief. C2 is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for Joint/Maritime/Land C2 services (including: subject matter expertise; research and development; software engineering; acquisition; operations and maintenance; and, disposal) in the following C3 Community of Interest (COI) technical service areas: Land; Maritime; Joint; Special Operations and Nuclear C2.
Secifially you will operate within The Nuclear C2 Service Area, responsible for the end-to-end management of distributed Nuclear Information Systems in support of NATO operations and exercises. Your role will include providing all aspects of system support to NATO Nuclear Command, Control and Reporting System (NNCCRS).

About you:
We are lookign for a talented and knowledgeable Principal Technician who holds Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related IT experience including the likes of; Installation, implementation, large scale deployment, operation, administration, testing and maintenance of distributed information systems comprised of workstations, servers, VoIP devices, routers; Knowledge of IT security systems (i.e. endpoint, cross-domain, data security)

Please note that ALL SELECTED CANDIDATES, with the exception of currently employed NATO International Civilians (NIC’s) will be appointed at the first Increment of the indicated NATO Grade, i.e. NATO Grade X, Increment 1.This is the salary referred to in this vacancy notice. Extra increments can only be considered for candidates from another Co-Ordinated Organisation.
Selected candidates who are not nationals of the host country and who have not been continuously resident in the host country for at least one year may be eligible for an expatriate allowance. For the purposes of determining continuous residence, NATO considers mainly the work location at the time recruitment started, independent of whether various ties were kept with the home country.
