JOB OPENING – PRICING AGENT

Scope and Responsibility:

The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) periodically conducts a survey, collecting prices of goods and services in cities around the world, in order to adjust the salaries of the employees of United Nations organisations for changes in cost of living. International organisations based in The Hague, Netherlands are participating in this survey throughout the month of March 2019 and are seeking applications for the position of Pricing Agent. The Pricing Agent will be responsible for visiting stores, shopping outlets and goods and services establishments to obtain prices. S/he will document all prices in templates provided and will maintain excellent records.

The Pricing Agent will report to the “Place-to-Place Survey Coordinator.


Qualifications:

  1. Independent individual with no past or present work experience with any of the organizations of the United Nations Common System and is not an immediate relative of a UN staff member (child, parent, spouse, etc…)
  2. Has international shopping experience with knowledge of the local market.
  3. Preferably an expatriate who has lived at the duty station for at least one year.
  4. Possesses the ability to travel throughout The Hague to visit shopping outlets.
  5. Conversant with English, French or Spanish to ensure proper interpretation of item specifications as provided on the pricing forms.
  6. Able to communicate effectively (preferably in the official language of the duty station) as the job requires interaction with outlet owners and workers.
  7. Possesses a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  8. Experience in the field of statistics, economics, project management, auditing, accounting and/or finance is an asset.
  9. Availability throughout March 2019 and able to complete the job within the given time frame.


Remuneration:

The Pricing Agent fee for service is 2900. USD (approximately 2534.85 EURO)
