The position will be based in Dushanbe with travel to rural Tajikistan, and report to the Head of Partnerships of AKF Tajikistan.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development (35%)

· Identify, vet, and track funding opportunities and provide AKF Tajikistan's input into AKF's global Proposal Approval Process

· Coordinate high-quality development of AKF Tajikistan proposals across sectors, by coordinating inputs from AKF global offices, AKF Tajikistan office and implementing partners

· Consolidate, edit, and at times write proposals to ensure quality prior to submission to donors or upstream partners

Programme support (25%)

· Provide editing quality assurance of donor narrative reports from project managers and implementing partners

· Support project managers on compliance with donor policies and procedures, such as visibility requirements and amendments to budgets and log frames

· Support project managers with project inception workshops, coordination events, steering committee meetings and learning events

Partnership management (30%)

· Provide information and intelligence on activities of donors, development community and international organisations in Tajikistan to AKF and AKDN partners

· Maintain and strengthen relations with donors, implementing partners, international organisations, and government partners to advance AKF and AKDN objectives

· Coordinate strategic site visits, meetings, events, and other engagements with donors and partners (existing and prospective)

· Conduct due diligence of new partners and donors, including safeguarding due diligence

Communications and outreach (5%)

· Support Communications Officer to expand the inventory of AKF communications materials to meet project obligations, raise awareness and support resource mobilisation, and contribute to AKF objectives

Policy and strategy (5%)

· Provide input on or lead strategy papers, reporting and responses to other requests from AKF Geneva headquarters, AKDN Tajikistan Diplomatic Office, and other strategic obligations

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in social sciences or other related discipline

· Minimum two years of professional experience in partnerships or business development for international development or a relevant field

· Strong written English, communication etiquette, and verbal skills

· Native-level English

· Strong knowledge of proposal development, including narratives, budgets, and logical frameworks

· Strong knowledge of grant management or programme support, including editing narrative reports, reviewing financial reports, supporting grant agreement amendments, and responding to other grant-related obligations

· Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines proactively in a solutions-based manner

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in communications work, preferably for international development

· Experience with client-facing or external-oriented positions (e.g., partnerships, PR, advocacy)
