RTI’s work is helping foster stronger food systems, reduce malnutrition in all its forms, build resilience and engage the next generation of food security leaders. RTI is currently partnering on nearly 30 projects in East Africa, including activities focused on private sector-driven agricultural growth in Rwanda and market systems development in Kenya.

Project Description

The purpose of the recently awarded USAID Feed the Future Senegal Value Chain Activity is to provide technical assistance to significantly scale-up, both in terms of potential beneficiaries and geographical coverage, access to value chain services to expand job opportunities and enterprise development in the Senegalese agricultural sector. The anticipated program will be based in Dakar, Senegal and the intervention zones are Delta and middle valley of the Senegal River, South Saloum, and Casamance.

Position Description

RTI International is seeking an Operations and Office Assistant for the USAID Feed the Future Senegal Value Chain Activity. The Operations and Office Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support for the activity. This position will be in Dakar, Senegal and report to the Operations and HR Manager.

Description du projet

L’objectif du nouveau projet, Feed the Future Sénégal Services aux Chaines de Valeur de l’USAID, est de fournir une assistance technique pour augmenter considérablement, à la fois en termes de bénéficiaires potentiels et de couverture géographique, l’accès aux services au sein des chaînes de valeur pour accroitre les opportunités d’emploi et le développement des entreprises Sénégalaises dans le secteur agricole. Le projet sera basé à Dakar et les zones d’intervention sont le Delta et la moyenne vallée du fleuve Sénégal, le Sud Saloum et la Casamance.

Description du poste

RTI International est à la recherche d’un Assistant de bureau pour l’activité Feed the Future Sénégal Services aux Chaines de Valeur de l’USAID. Assistant de bureau fournira un large éventail de soutien administratif pour l'activité. Ce poste sera basé à Dakar, au Sénégal et relèvera du Responsable operations et RH.

Your primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Serve as the Senegal office receptionist to answer the door and phones and to greet guests.
  • Organize USAID Feed the Future Senegal Value Chain Activity internal meetings, reserving conference rooms and phone lines as needed including arranging catering as needed.
  • Oversees organization of workshops and other project events, support for visa process.
  • Supports the Finance, Operations, and Local Capacity Development Manager to ensure the project remains in compliance with RTI and USAID rules and regulations relating to project operations and implementation.
  • Works closely with the Regional Office Coordinator to support project operational needs in office location.
  • Support the Operations Officer in overseeing maintenance, mileage, gas consumption, registration of project vehicles, and driver management.
  • Serves as point of contact for organizations and agencies relating to project operations (tax office/VAT office/Hotels/ Airlines/Customs/landlords and other agencies) with which the organization has a working relationship or interest.
  • Works closely with the RTI Project Backstopping Support team to provide strong lines of communication and efficient project start-up, implementation, and close-out.
  • Supports SVCA staff to meet their goals by ensuring necessary workspace and materials are available when needed.
  • Responsible for updating RTI Assets Management Systems (RAMS) and putting guidelines in place to ensure all RTI assets are safeguarded and used properly and maintain the inventory system of non-expendable and supplies according to RTI procedures.
  • Organize external meetings, conferences, and other special events as required.
  • Coordinate office needs such as supply orders, maintenance requests, shipping/mailings; manage vendor deliveries to the office; organize and manage shared kitchen responsibilities.
  • Assist the project activities in addressing program administration issues as prioritized by the Chief of Party.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and be detail and deadline oriented.
    • Experience in office administration, logistics management, and event/meeting coordination.
    • Detail-oriented, hard-worker with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
