The Position

The Donor Engagement and Stewardship Officer is an integral member of the Philanthropy team and will have an opportunity to influence and execute part the team’s strategy to grow revenue, and cultivate, steward and nurture donor relationships to meet the annual revenue and relevance goals of the Philanthropy Team.

This role encompasses two distinct, but inter-connected streams of work that support donor retention and growth: the development and growth of a third-party events fundraising program and the design and delivery of new stewardship, recognition and engagement functionality that supports all constituent relationships across business lines within the Philanthropy department including, but not limited to, Corporate Partnerships, Major and Planned Giving.

What success looks like?

  • Manages a fundraising portfolio of approximately 150 - 200 third-party fundraising prospects and volunteers with a sense of ownership and true passion for providing exceptional donor interactions throughout the cycle of their giving;
  • Conducts discovery calls targeting existing donors with the potential and interest to increase their giving and/ or engagement;
  • Supports the implementation of the new organizational peer to peer technology solution to increase online giving and automate donor engagement;
  • Develops new and innovative strategies to further generate revenue and engage new online audiences (Do Good Dinner, Celebrate Your Special Day, Employee Engagement, etc.);
  • Supports build and implementation of a new corporate engagement strategy, matrix, and oversees activation;
  • Manages fundraising platform Rallybound, including donor inquiries and donor/ prospect support, to ensure continuity of the donor experience.

    As our ideal candidate you will have:

    • Proven success in fundraising or a related field with an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience;
    • Expertise in a customer relationship management/ CRM database (i.e. Blackbaud) and Windows Office Suite;
    • Proven relationship management skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust in donors and stakeholders;
    • Strategic mindset and creative approaches to deepening relationships and driving results;
    • Excellent organizational and research skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy;
    • Demonstrated resourcefulness and independence, comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and goal-driven environment.
