OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The mission of WHO's PHC (The Programme) is to support the country in improving access to PHC services, introducing the People-Centered Primary care concepts and approach with focus on the most vulnerable, in a gender sensitive approach, in line with WHO GPW13 and SDG 3 targets.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

1. Provide a technical input in the development, implementation and follow up of PHC project with emphasis on the People Centered Primary Care (PCPC) integration within the MOPH selected Network centers.
2. Contribute to the technical reviews of programme plans, reports, proposals and other documents relevant to the programme and suggest recommendations on best practices.
3. Identify training needs, prepare training materials tailored to the specific needs and recommend plans for capacity building of health personnel.
4. Arrange for capacity building activities for PHC personnel and in health facilities.
5. Conduct meetings (including field meetings) with the national counterparts for planning and reprogramming of collaborative actions.
6. Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative periodic reports according to WHO developed indicators on activities in primary health care facilities.
7. Secure information from a broad range of health sectors, analysis of data and recommendation of actions.
8. Conduct impact analysis on the WHO training workshops for different health care providers.
9. Identify priority primary health care issues and ensure that these are properly addressed in an integrated primary healthcare approach.
10. Recommend interventions to solve urgent problems identified during the analysis phase.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: First University degree in public health.
Desirable: Master's degree in Public Health.

 

Experience

Essential: At least 2 years' experience in areas of health system strengthening, health management or public health related areas
Desirable: Knowledge of WHO mandate and goals or experience in UN Organizations, international institutions or NGOs is considered an asset.

 

 

Skills

Proven skills in capacity building Demonstrate knowledge of health sector activities Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of WHO and UN programmes.  Excellent presentation skills. Sound knowledge of public health.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at LBP 102,079,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
